How Do I Know My Brain Falls Into The Beta, Alpha, Theta, And Delta State?
BETA State:
This usually occurs in your daily activities provided that you’re not resting or sleeping.
You’re definitely awake, attentive and alert. Your brain is highly tuned and focused. It makes you respond quickly in your activity.
In the Beta state, the brain neurons fire up in great number and in rapid succession. The purpose is to heighten your performance. The downside of it is that you will not have intuition.
If excessive High Beta brain waves are created, it can result in anxiety and panic.
ALPHA State:
The brisk patterns of Beta will slow down into mellow waves of Alpha.
In the Alpha state, you’re very relaxed. And your awareness of surrounding expands. A creative energy is about to explode as the state approaches near Theta. You’ll have flashes of new ideas and solutions to problems. But most people won’t able to grasp it unless the mind state is near Theta. Besides this result, you’ll experience a sense of peace and well being.
When Alpha state becomes more dominant, the left brain activity usually drops it function to act as filter or censor to the subconscious. The intuitive, emotional and creative parts of the mind become increasingly influential.
Wonder why people buy stuff base on their emotions unwittingly? Because salesmen knows how to inject a soothing sales process to the mind. It appeals to the subconscious mind which can only be activated when the environment is positively warm and peaceful.
THETA State:
At this state, your mind slows almost to the point of deep sleep.
Theta is the brain state where hidden and unexplainable power is awaken. It brings forward crystal clear dreamlike imagery, increased receptivity, the lost memories and surges of inspiration.
In the deep state of Theta meditation, some people can experience a sensation of suspension or floatation. This happens when the state is just at the beginning – The sensory input of the body is almost detached from the brain. But it is fully conscious of the surrounding. The dormant brain reaches its peak of unseen productivity because most energy is distributed to it.
DELTA State:
The slowest of all brain wave frequencies, Delta brain waves are long, deep and undulating, most commonly associated with deep dreamless sleep. Your deep Delta state of brain wave activity is one of harmonious relaxation, where both sides of the brain work in synchronization. The Delta state promotes accelerated physical healing.

Functional Fitness Training For Busy People
Life can get so busy with work, family, and an endless parade of errands, that it seems like we never have time for ourselves, let alone for working out. However, research shows substantial benefits can be derived from shorter, more intense workouts that can be finished in a few minutes.
Using bodyweight and a portable system like the TRX suspension trainer, or a simple set of resistance cables, a fast workout can be done anywhere. The suspension training system is light weight (about 2-3 lbs.) and can be anchored to any sturdy door, or brought on the road.
Resistance cables are very portable as well, usually coming with a small mesh carrying bag. Both can do serious damage with an evenly paced routine; but double the pace and punch out as many reps as possible in a set time period? Ouch!
When you only have a few minutes for exercise, it is important to utilize this time efficiently. Enter functional exercise, defined as being exercises stimulating multiple muscle groups through multiple planes of movement.
For example, a wrestler may need to bridge off the ground while twisting to one side and lifting weight off his body; unloading groceries from the car may require fully extending and pulling weight with one hand while supporting yourself with the other, all while your back is in a compromised position.
Tools which help strengthen your core muscles (transverse abdominis, intercostals, obliques, rectus abdominis, etc.,) by forcing them to stabilize your body throughout the routine are the key to getting the most from these short workouts. Utilizing the following exercises in the prescribed superset format will cause your body to burn more calories after the workout as well.
An excellent functional workout using the TRX training system can consist of three exercises done back-to-back for three rounds of 12-20 repetitions each. For example:
Sprinters Start (Core stabilization, activates leg muscles including hip flexors/extensors.)
Pendulum (Isometric contraction for shoulders, pecs, triceps while using core muscles to swing legs.)
Body Row (Isometric contraction of core muscles to keep body rigid, contracts upper body pulling muscles.)
This short workout takes its toll on all major muscle groups, and will get your heart pumping. These movements are also adept at strengthening your body through multiple angles, creating practical muscle.
Using resistance cables or your own body weight will yield impressive results also. If you have nothing but your bodyweight, there are countless exercises that can be done. Try spending 5-10 minutes doing a series of push-ups, jump squats, and leg lift windmills. Again, choose a number of repetitions, say 12, and perform the exercises back-to-back, resting about 20 seconds between rounds. Start with three rounds, and work up to a full five minute routine. The metabolic expenditure will be substantial, and your body will continue to feel it throughout the day.
Incorporate core strengthening exercises into every quick fitness routine, as this is the foundation of the body’s strength and mobility. Remember to get warmed-up to prevent injury, and include flexibility training during your week. Just a few minutes a day will yield visible results, so get started!

This is more or less 40km one way. You will experience a taste of every landscape, from rocky slopes, to cool water, and a variety of vegetation.
At the end of any hard mountain biking day, you should find yourself in the vicinity of a variety of comfortable lodgings, with a bed for every budget. There are enough guidebooks, and tourist information available, to help you to make the most of your Canada mountain biking trip.
Just remember that BC is becoming a popular destination. Make sure that you reserve your bike and bed for Canada mountain biking, otherwise you may have to go hiking…

Full Suspension Mountain Bikes Require Thorough Consideration
Buying full suspension mountain bikes is something that should be done with care. Although this is an exciting time for mountain bike enthusiasts, it can also be a time of regret if you do not follow the proper process when buying one of these bikes. Among other things you should:
o Consider the weight – If you are looking for a lightweight bike, then these bikes may not be the proper bikes to suit your needs. One of the reasons for this is because these bikes tend to be quite a bit heavier than normal bikes thanks to the fact that they include more devices and gadgets than a normal bike might.
o Maintenance can be cumbersome – While all bikes need some kind of maintenance from time to time, the type of maintenance that is needed by most full suspension bikes is quite a bit more extensive than other bikes might need. Because full suspension bikes are more complicated than other bikes, the maintenance required for these bikes could involve using some specialized tools.
o Make sure it is right for you – Just because a friend loves to ride a full suspension bike, this does not mean that you necessarily will like it as well. In fact, if you are going to be racing your mountain bike, you will likely find that most of your competitors will still be using hardtail bikes. On most mountain courses, hardtail bikes are still considered to be the most efficient choice.
o Is your comfort important? – If the answer to this question is yes (which it should be), then you may find that full suspension mountain bikes actually suit you well. Many people prefer these bikes thanks to the fact that they are so effective at helping the rider absorb the little shocks that always come as you ride down the mountain. On rough terrain, these bikes are usually much more comfortable than typical bikes.
o What would you do? – Imagine that you go ahead and purchase one of the full suspension bikes. Then what? Honestly assess what you would do to make the purchase worth your time and money. We are not talking about spending just a few hundred dollars here. The nicest suspension bikes will cost in the thousands of dollars. If you can truly see yourself using this bike often, then perhaps it would be a good bike for you.
o Ask a person you trust – If you have never purchased a full suspension bike, ask a friend or neighbor who owns one what they think about theirs. Ask them what they wish they would have checked on before they bought their bike and which features are they finding to be most beneficial. Knowing all of this can help you choose the features that you want.
o Try it out – Definitely try these bikes out for an extended ride before you decide to buy one. Perhaps renting one or borrowing one from a friend and then going for a ride in the mountains can help you come to a decision about whether or not you want the bike.
Remembering to do each of these stages can help reduce the chance that you will look back on your purchase of full suspension mountain bikes with disappointment.
